Short description

CEA (a French governmental organization) is involved in desalination since many years. Modelling of desalination systems and coupling these systems with heat and power sources is one of its activities in this field.

 

The computer model allows calculating capital and desalinated water cost distillated with a solar power plant comprising a solar field (LFC), a thermal storage, a Rankine power block and a MED desalination unit. The model is a pseudo-dynamic model based on hour per hour steady-state regime. The site is taken into account by entering a DNI table.

Input: design point for Rankine and MED units. Output: hour per hour delivered power, water production, water and electricity cost (and daily expenses), thermal storage state.
