Methodology for receiver tube testing

Short description

Methodology for receiver tube testing.

  • Non-destructive optical characterization: spectral measurements along the receiver tube of transmittance of glass and reflectance of the absorber over solar spectrum (300 - 2500 nm).
  • Thermal losses test: determination of the receiver tube’s thermal loss curve by unit of length at different temperatures.

Main technical features

This test bench is able to make simultaneous spectral measurements of specular transmittance and reflectance in a wavelength range of 300 nm to 2500 nm in measurement steps of 10 nm. The solar absorptance and solar transmittance is calculated by nondestructive testing. It also enables detailed statistical studies of the uniformity of the optical measurements at 11 points on the solar receiver.

Innovative aspects

No-destructive optical measurements (both transmittance and absortance)
